On Saturday Chris and Steve from Playscheme were on site to install an outdoor stage in our playground! Thank you so much to Playscheme - we love it! The stage is set for breaktime 'Barwick's Got Talent' productions!
Thank you to Mrs Evans who helped FOBS write a successful Festival Fund bid to finance the stage.
We cant wait for to see everyone enjoying preforming on the stage as soon as school reopens!
Happy Birthday and Congratulations to Lydia!
Lydia is the first pupil to receive our new Barwick birthday card!
Pupil governors made the following announcement in our newsletter last week.
Important Message from Pupil Governors
In a recent meeting, we (the Pupil Governors) have asked that sweets do not get brought in when it is your child’s birthday.
Why? There are children in our classes that are not allowed sweets because of allergies and other personal reasons. We all agreed that it is not fair for these children to feel left out when their friends enjoy sweets.
What else should we do? After lots of discussion, we have asked the school to create a special birthday card for children to receive on their birthday. We also thought a good idea would be for each class to have birthday hats which children can wear when their class sing Happy Birthday.
We hope you understand and are as excited as us about the new changes in school.
A huge thank you to our super team of litter pickers who joined Barwick In Bloom on Saturday morning to make sure our village is litter free. The team worked hard to make sure Jack Heap's Field, the village hall car park and the cricket ground is now litter free. A special mention to Miss Leeman who found three cowboy hats and to George who found lots of cricket ball in the hedges! After working so hard we were rewarded with a bun and juice at the Barwick In Bloom Coffee Morning.
Thank you to the Bloomers for inviting us - we had a fabulous time and won some tasty treats on the tombola!
This morning it was wonderful to welcome Rev Bob in to school to lead our Ash Wednesday Worship. Rev Bob explained the significance of Ash Wednesday and told us about how Jesus spent time in the desert thinking deeply about his life and preparing for the events that were about to happen to him. We all thought about how we are going to reflect in Lent.
Mrs Nicholson introduced 40acts - our whole school Lent generosity challenge of 40 days, 40 reflections, 40 challenges to make a difference.
Find out more about 40acts visit https://40acts.org.uk/ or ask a one of our children!
