Florence Nightingale

We have been learning about the real heroine Florence Nightingale and things she did to change the history of nursing forever. 

 

In Literacy we have imagined we were Florence at the time of the war and wrote a diary extract of the things she might have heard, seen, smelt and felt at the time. 

 

In Art we have been looking at portraits. We used sketching pencils to shade the image of Florence Nightingale, thinking carefully about which parts should be light or dark. Here are a few examples that Mrs Kimberley really liked:
