Chef Noodles!

Our school is delighted to have been especially selected to take part in a bespoke action research project focused on healthy eating and exercise.

Melanie Braid is a creative and innovative teacher, with over 25 years of experience. She has a Psychology degree and is passionate about cooking. Most of the children in our school know her as Ms Braid, as a regular supply teacher in school. She has now embarked on a new career as an educational researcher and writer.

Melanie has created an engaging character to assist her in this research. He is a little bear called ‘Chef Noodles’ who just loves to cook. Every Friday afternoon, for the next six weeks the children will have a fun lesson from Chef Noodles about an aspect of healthy eating and exercise. His aim is to pass on his love of cooking healthy food, help children to develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise for life.

As a part of this research, each of our families will receive a simple food diary and questionnaire to complete together. These will be repeated again at the end of the six week trial. Chef Noodles would be very grateful if you would make time to do this.

The children will become Noodles’ ambassadors and pass on their newfound knowledge to the humans in their family, to encourage them to make healthy choices about what they eat and to do more exercise to keep themselves strong. The children will have lots of fun working with Chef Noodles and we thank you for your support.!
