'A Community of faith where we believe, achieve and grow together'

New Entrants September 2024

Information for prospective entrants September 2024!

We are delighted that you are exploring our school as a starting point for your child's learning journey.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Barwick-in-Elmet Church of England Primary School and to welcome you to our community. Our school has a unique place at the heart of a supportive village community.

Everyone at Barwick-in-Elmet Church of England Primary School is called and committed to their role in educating the children of the future.  We recognise that the time children spend with us is precious therefore we see it as our mission to inspire a love of learning.  I am privileged to work alongside extremely dedicated staff who strive to equip every child with exciting, challenging and memorable educational experiences during their time with us. At Barwick, we aim not only to educate pupils to their full potential but also to impart Christian values and a love of God. Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with the promise by Jesus of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart. Our vision embraces the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development of all our learners. The vision for our school is to be a community of faith where we believe, achieve and grow together.

As parents, we want the very best for our children including regular, reliable, accessible information about their progress and achievement. As a school, we believe that home-school partnership is essential in developing your child’s positive attitude to learning, behaviour and achievement. During your child’s first year in our school, we will work together to develop and secure strong, effective home-school partnerships.

I am very much looking forward to meeting all of our new entrants and their families.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.
