Congratulations to all the children who were nominated by their peers for our annual Barwick Sports Personality of the Year. This morning, in assembly, we heard why each child had been nominated-we were all amazed at the sporting talent in school! Well done to Poppy Smith, Eva Jenkins for making the final three. Congratulations to Harrison Phyllis our Barwick Sports Personality of the Year  2016. Harrison competes at national level in BMX events, recently  he was ranked as 9th in the country!

  • End of Year School Data

    Thu 14 Jul 2016

    Data 2015 2016 HEADLINES

End of Early Years Foundation Stage  72% of the cohort achieved a Good Level Development

Year 1 Phonics  72% of the cohort met the required standard

End of Key Stage 1 and 2 Congratulations to Year 2 and Year 6 on their  SATS results!  The 2016 key stage  assessments are the first which  assess the new, more challenging national curriculum which was introduced in 2014. New tests and interim frameworks for  teacher assessment were introduced part way through the year to reflect the revised  curriculum. Results are no longer reported as     levels, and each pupil now receives their test results as a scaled score and teacher assessments based on the standards in the interim framework.  Because of the changes set out above, figures for 2016 are not comparable to those for earlier years. The expectations for pupils at the end of key stage 2 have been raised; this year nationally 53% of pupils reached the new expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics. We are very proud of the achievement of Year 2 and Year 6;  they all worked incredibly hard and should be pleased with their attitude and determination when tackling some really tricky test questions!

Key Stage One  (cohort of  28 so each child represents 3.6%). Year 2 national comparative figures have yet to be released.

Reading 75% met the expected standard        Writing  64% met the expected standard        Maths 64% met the expected  standard

Key Stage Two  (cohort of  17 one child was absent but still included in the data so each child represented  5.8%) Year 6 National   comparative figures have been released and are in brackets .

Reading 65% (66%) met the expected standard.    SPAG 65% (72%) met the expected standard.     Writing  71% (74%) met the expected   standard  (externally moderated).      Maths 65%  (70%) met the expected  standard  59% pupils reached the new expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.

59%  of pupils reached the new expected standard in  reading, writing and mathematics.
