Friends of Barwick School (FOBS) is back! FOBS is here to raise money for our school and have some fun in the process

Some of you may be wondering – what actually is FOBS?

It’s Friends of Barwick School or FOBS for short - it’s a bit like the PTA that parents may be aware of but it’s more inclusive. It welcomes parents, carers, grandparents, in fact, anyone who has an interest in the school and its pupils! The main aim is to provide fun activities, events and trips and make memories for Barwick’s pupils whilst hopefully raising some money for special projects chosen by you, the FOBS, and pupils of the school.

FOBS is a registered charity so they can apply for a variety of funding that a PTA or the school could not have access to. The money raised by FOBS will go to projects that have been decided by the parents and pupils.

Any interest is very welcome, whether it’s coming along once a month for an hour or volunteering at an event or perhaps you could provide some contacts for FOBS for any funding, or partnerships that the FOBS team can follow up!

Minutes will be added to this page after meetings take place and you can always contact us via email at FOBS@barwickprimary.co.uk and send any suggestions or let us know you’d like to help out at an event.

We will also regularly update you via the newsletter when events are coming up.

A message from the FOBS PTA Team - Friday 4th November 2016 

Thank You!

Our first event of the new school year was the Autumn Disco and, thanks to all the parents who helped, it was a resounding success. Our children loved it and we hope yours did too. Thanks to the amazing support you all gave, we made a fabulous start to the year's fundraising, which we hope to build on. Our main purpose is to raise money in order to give additional resources (and a few treats) for all the children at Barwick Primary.

Last year, the child-designed Christmas cards were a new offering. Look out for the 2016 designs in your children’s book bags tonight. Why send generic cards to friends and family, when you can send cards designed by your own children? Grandparents love them, they put funds back into the school and it ticks one of those Christmas jobs off your list!

Thanks again, and don’t forget to get your cards order in ASAP.
