Class Information

Morning Routines

The school doors open at 8:45 every morning and children are asked to put their coats and bags on their pegs and begin maths journaling. To encourage independence we encourage children to come into school independently and ask parents to say goodbye outside the classroom.

Reading Books

A reading basket is provided for children to put their books in if they would like them changing. Please ensure your child does this on a morning so that there is sufficient time to change it before the end of the day. Children need to have their book and reading record in their bag every day as we may hear individual readers or have Guided Reading at different times in the week. We have just started using the brand new scheme of books so please look after your child's book at home. Please could all books that need changing be in the basket by Thursday. Reading books will not be changed on a Friday as Mrs Collett is not in school on this day.

Homework

The children have received their homework book with a note about how the pyramid works. In year 1 the most important thing to practice at home with your child is reading, spellings and the KIRFs.

Water Bottles

Water bottles are filled and washed out everyday and children have access to them throughout the day.

PE

This half term we do PE on a Thursday afternoon. PE kits should be brought in on a Monday and taken home on a Friday.
