At Barwick-in-Elmet Church of England Primary School, our vision is rooted in our Christian faith and our belief that every child should be known, valued and given the opportunity to flourish. We are a small school with a big heart: a community where children belong, relationships matter and everyone is encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

These words shape our ambition for every child. We want our pupils not simply to achieve academically, but to live life in all its fullness: developing confidence, character, compassion, curiosity and a sense of responsibility for others.
Our Values
We listen, value difference and treat others as we would wish to be treated. We learn that every person is important and deserves dignity and respect.
We encourage our children to understand how others may be feeling, to show kindness and forgiveness and to offer help when someone needs it.
We teach children that they can contribute to something bigger than themselves. Through helping others, taking responsibility and serving our community, our pupils learn that their actions matter.

Our Christian Foundation
As a Church of England school, our Christian foundation shapes the life and culture of Barwick. Through Collective Worship, reflection, prayer, our curriculum and opportunities to serve others, children explore Christian teaching while learning to understand and respect people of different faiths and worldviews. We want our children to leave Barwick with strong values, an understanding of themselves and others, and the confidence to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
