Today, you will be re-capping place value. There will also be some challenge questions thrown in too!

Look in the Resources folder to find today’s English work. You will be watching some TV adverts and noting what you see and hear.

Spend some time practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to warm up. Then practice another selection of addition questions, continuing from last week. Tomorrow, you will be writing instructions for how to add.

This week in class, we are working towards finishing our write up of our own papaya stories. You are already ahead of us, so if you would like to continue with your next section. Try to remember to use noun phrases and your speech marks if you can!

Could you design and/or make a board game which practices adding 2 digit numbers together. Maybe you could roll a die, and only get to move once you have answered a 2 digit + 2 digit question? GET CREATIVE!

Spend time writing the next part of the papaya story. Try to keep including noun phrases, as well as having a go at speech marks. There is a sheet telling you about speech marks in the resources folder. Just have a go!

Reading

I have attached a short reading paper for you to have a go at. There are 11 questions, you will find a piece of text, then some questions. The mark scheme is at the end, so you can check your answers if you wish.

 

I have attached it is a Word document and a PDF, to make sure you can open it.

Either send me a photo and I can check your answers, or have a check of the answers yourself and let me know how you got on.

PE – This afternoon, we will be continuing our dance work.

Practice our hippo and snake routines, if you can remember them. Then can you create another routine of your own animal.

 

Don’t forget to do a warm up – maybe a little bit of light jogging, skipping and star jumps.

Maths

Practice adding two digit numbers. In one of our Maths papers from this week, there were lots of addition questions, so we are going to be practising these. Look in the resources section to see how to break it down into tens and ones.

Part 1 – Edit your writing from Monday. Check spellings (from my email) and also add in adjectives to make noun phrases.

Reading

In school, we have been having a go a reading test paper. Could you try to read a chapter of a book, or a whole smaller book, then write some VIPERS questions (try to think about vocabulary questions [words] or prediction questions?

Send them in (with a photo of the text you have read) for Miss Wood to have a go at answering.

Topic

RE: This lesson is all about making good choices. Use the PowerPoint to think about some questions, and also read a story all about making choices.

Then use the good and bad choices sheet and the pictures to decide which are good and bad choices (don’t worry about printing this – you could maybe draw the pictures instead).

Today in class we would be doing a grammar assessment, so please use this link:  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zvp6dp3  to make a poster about sentence types.

 

There are other activities which you can try if you wish, or just creating the poster is also fine.

If you can take some pictures of your work and send them via email. Or if not, send some examples of checking calculations on your email.
