Spelling
Spelling is taught using the Twinkl Spelling Pathway which provides weekly spelling lists that the children from Year One to Year Six are tested on. Tricky words that feature on spelling lists are to be explored through vocabulary work, to ensure pupils understand the context of the words being learnt.
Spellings are shared with parents and the children on the school website, classroom displays and on the current half term homework pyramid.
Pacey 20 minute lessons are taught at least three times a week with variations in task to maintain high levels of engagement.
Spelling Stars are used in addition to the teaching or exploring of the Spelling rules on are upheld.
Spelling Stars comprises of a bank of activities to be listed on inside front cover, for pupils to work through independently or in pairs.
